Chocolate Buttercream Wedding Cake
This is one of the most delicious desserts in the world. Not only does it have a great taste but it is a hit with girls, young and old.
As it is women love to go bonkers on anything ‘chocolate’ and what could be more soft, delicious and tempting than a chocolate cake?
Let me discuss to you about two of my friends Loraine and Jane, who are excellent with their baking skills. Loraine’s way of making cake is by preheating the oven to 350F.
She normally greases two or three 8 inch round baking pans. Then she microwaves non-sweetened chocolate baking bars on high flame for a minute.
She stirs the baking bars till the content looks soft and gooey. She then cools it well enough to room temperature.
Then she beats sugar and butter in a large bowl. The mixture is followed by milk, vanilla essence, flour, baking soda, baking powder, lemon juice, eggs, salt and of course water.
All of these are beat on low speed with a blender. Then she increases the speed, beating it at high speed for three minutes. She adds the soft chocolate batter and pours it into the cake pans.
The baking goes for about half an hour. Then she uses a cake tester or a knife in the top center of the cake to test if the cake is soft and not doughy. She places the cake in the cake pans and then puts it onto the wire racks to cool off to the hilt.
Jane also makes a chocolate cake in the same style but she sifts powdered sugar over it after the cake is cooled. She serves the cake with strawberries and whipped cream.
While Loraine likes to frost the cake with chocolate icing, sugar and butter, Jane normally uses heavy cream and chocolate for the frosting. She heats whipping cream in a sauce pan. She adds dark chocolate and stirs until smooth.
She transfers a tablespoon of the frosting into a container and keeps it refrigerated for about 20 minutes. She says that if the frosting is too thin, then she adds some more melted chocolate; and if the frosting is more on the thicker side, then she adds some cream to smoothen it.
Both these beautiful ladies are an inspiration for making tasty chocolate cakes. So if your mouth is watering for something delicious, a chocolate cake is a perfect idea, be it celebration or just another day.
